Upon graduation, Bob began his active duty as a Systems Engineer working to develop the Minuteman Missile System during the Cold War at Norton AFB in California, where he achieved the rank of Captain. Following his service, he owned and operated an engineering consulting company. After retiring, he was elected Senator to Senate District 2. Finally, Bob and his wonderful wife Kay reside in Edgewood, Texas. Marcia serves as the Executive Director of Williamson County Citizens Defending Freedom (WilCo CDF), an organization committed to empowering citizens to defend their freedom and liberty. Weston Martinez, a fourth generation Texan, is a proven conservative leader who was born and raised in the Alamo City. He is now running to be Texas’ next Land Commissioner and has the experience and track record to serve the great state of Texas on Day 1.
Weston has already served as a statewide Commissioner, having been appointed as Real Estate Commissioner by former Texas Governor Rick Perry, the U.S Secretary of Energy under President Donald J. Trump.
Martinez, during his term in office, served under both Governor Perry and Governor Greg Abbott. As Texas Real Estate Commissioner, Weston worked with the Legislative and Executive Branches of Texas government to oversee all licensing, regulation and enforcement related to Realtors, Inspectors and Appraisers. The agency maintains approximately a 23-million-dollar budget with close to 300 employees seeing nearly 10,000 new license applicants a year. Weston served as the budget chairman for the agency for 3 years. During this time, Weston worked with team members to modernize the agency while reducing costs and increasing service and profit. His gubernatorial appointment required confirmation by the Texas Senate and successfully passing a thorough background investigation.
Martinez has been blessed to have a diverse professional career including as an oil and gas business development, as a government affairs strategist, and vice president of business development at a major Texas Law firm. Over the course of 26 years in the regulated telecommunications industry at Southwestern Bell and AT&T, Weston served in various roles including outside plant design engineering lead manager for the Southwest United States reporting directly to the Office of the President overseeing resolution of Public Utilities, Attorney General, and Better Business Bureau complaints for the United States. Weston brings a strong corporate background from the oil and gas industry as the President of a leading oil and gas service company where he held his own unique operator’s license with the Texas Railroad Commission.
